As reported on Appleinsider.com, Arlo has launched an update for their Smart Hub (model VMB4540), which brings HomeKit functionality to theirs Rooms Arlo Pro 3. This newer model, although similar to its predecessor still available, Arlo Pro 2, accepts 2K video, has a color night vision, which represents a recent development in the world of smart cameras, as well as a 160º field of view.

Although the expected HomeKit upgrade is more than welcome, Arlo Pro 3 still does not support HomeKit Secure Video, which for many people is the new milestone for HomeKit cameras.

If you're lucky enough to have the Arlo Pro system, with the VHB4540 SmartHub, then you can upgrade the system to get HomeKit compatibility through a firmware update available in the Arlo app.

 

After Linksys accidentally posted an imminent update of HomeKit compatibility for their Velop mesh routers on their website (it turns out it wasn't imminent ...), now it seems that Eero, owned by Amazon, has beaten them to the finish line, with the announcement of a year's update to Eero and Eero Pro Routers, that's what he said at their alignment.

If you are lucky enough to already have a pro Eero or Eero configuration, to upgrade your router, make sure you are already on firmware version 3.18, then go to the Discover section of the Eero application, where you will see an upgrade option for HomeKit functionality.
