Brilliant today released a public beta that brings support for Apple's HomeKit to its line of connected light switches. The arrival of HomeKit comes after a long period of development, the company first revealing that it was on its way to CES 2019.

Brilliant Home Control is a sleek, touchscreen replacement for a traditional light switch. Home Control is available in several configurations and colors, covering a single switch, up to 4 switches. In addition to the touch screen, several switching options include dedicated controls for darkening and switching the power state without having to look at the screen.
The home control display portion provides access to other smart home services, including popular integrations with Sonos, ecobee, Ring and Hue. Other points of interest include Alexa Amazon, which uses an on-board microphone and a camera with privacy shutter, which is used for video calls and intercom. The screen is also capable of displaying images, art and weather forecasts.

HomeKit support allows light switches to participate in scenes, automation and through Siri voice commands. Although HomeKit light switch controls are available, the motion sensor and built-in Home Control camera are unfortunately not suitable for travel.
Installing the home control involves the same process for most light switches, but requires a neutral wire in the electrical box. This allows the switch to be installed in minutes without an electrical appliance, and Home Control also supports complex multi-way lighting configurations. Home Control can also be used for ceiling fans that have a wall on / off switch, but do not support speed adjustment.
The public HomeKit beta is now available to existing owners of Brilliant Home Control and can be found in the settings menus directly on your device. Brilliant Home Control is now available directly from the company's online store, starting at $ 299 for the single-switch model in white. The company is also working on a screenless dimmer switch, which is slated for a launch in late June and a smart connector.
