Meross has launched a new smart connector for HomeKit, Smart WiFi Plug Dual. The latest two-socket packs in a single compact design and can now be purchased on Amazon.

The Smart Smart Dual Wi-Fi plug has a space-saving design that does not block the other outlet on the wall. Similar to other multi-plug HomeKit accessories, both sockets on the plug can be controlled independently via remote controls and there is a button on the device to switch it manually.

As its name suggests, the plug connects directly to 2.4 ghz Wi-Fi networks without the need for an additional hub. HomeKit support allows the outlet to associate directly with the iOS Home app after connecting it, without having to create a separate account or download another app.

In addition to HomeKit, the latest Meross plug works with Alexa Amazon, Google Assistant and, of course, the Meross app. Within the application, users can create custom programs and timers, as well as scenes that work with other Meross accessories in the house.

The Meross Smart WiFi Dual Plug is priced at $ 19.99 and is available for purchase on Amazon now. Meross seems to be organizing a promotion for the plug, with a coupon that can be cut on the Amazon list, which takes $ 4 extra, reducing it to $ 15.99.

Apple has just opened an invitation for the Beta HomePod program according to several reports on social networks. The new Beta version, which is the first for the Apple Smart Speaker, is not part of the Beta programs for the public or developers, but is part of the AppleSeed program.

Unlike other beta versions, it appears that Apple requires users to abide by privacy agreements, which include limiting discussions to feedback and preventing the sharing of potential profiles used. As with all Beta versions, Apple warns that guests will only implement it on non-critical hardware and mentions the first backup, which is not possible for the HomePod.

Apple has added a new accessibility feature in iOS 14, which can perform quick actions by tapping on the back of an iPhone. The Back Tap feature, which can be found in the accessibility settings, can be used to instantly pick up the Control Center, summon Siri, or even run shortcuts.

There are currently 23 actions in total (in addition to any user-created shortcuts), and users can assign two separate tap actions to invoke the execution of the assigned action. Both double and triple taps are available and can be used at any time, although it is currently limited to when the device is unlocked.
