Starting this fall, HomeKit Secure camcorders are gaining the ability to recognize faces, allowing notifications to include the person's name. The latest feature, like all things Apple and HomeKit, provides these smart notifications using local image processing through a HomeKit hub and the user's photo library. If that wasn't enough, HomePod will take action by announcing its arrival once it is updated later this year. If you're already on the latest versions, here's how to enable and manage Face Recognition.

How to enable face recognition in the Home app in iOS 14

1. Launch The home app.
2. Press rooms in the navigation bar at the bottom of the application.
3. Swipe to left or right to navigate to the room where the room is located.
4. Touch the button Thumbnail image of the camera.
5. Touch the button Settings icon located at the top of the application.
6. touch Facial recognition.
7. commutation Facial recognition at the on position with a tap.
8. Touch the button Face library option with your name.
   • Other users in the house will appear in the list of these Libraries, if they share them with everyone in the house.
9. Catch Use Photo Library with a tap if it is not already activated to activate the function.
10. Touch the for button Share faces to share this library with others in your home if you wish.

Once you have Face Recognition enabled, faces passing in front of the HomeKit Secure camcorder will be automatically scanned by the HomeKit. Notifications will include a person's name if recognized. HomeKit uses existing faces and people in the Photos application, which means no further steps are required.
