Even if you don't have a Tado system yet, the Tado Smart Air Conditioning Control v3+ can connect directly to your home WiFi network, eliminating the need for a Tado bridge.

To install and add the Tado Smart Air Conditioning Control v3+ to your Tado installation, follow these steps:

Phase 1:
1. Open the Tado app and go to the Settings screen.
2. Tap on Rooms & Devices.
3. Press the big blue Add Device button located at the bottom.
4. Scan the QR code on your Tado Smart Air Conditioning Control v3+.
5. Choose to register the device.
6. iPhone users will have the option to add it to HomeKit and sync to Wi-Fi following the usual HomeKit steps. For Android users, follow the guide provided by Tado to complete the setup.

Phase 2:
Once registered on your home Wi-Fi network, the Smart AC Control will connect to Tado's servers.
After this step, pair your AC remote by pointing it at the v3+ and pressing the power button. A green AC model will appear to confirm successful pairing. You can now have complete control over your air conditioning through the Tado app. The Tado Smart AC Control v3+ transmits an infrared signal to your AC, just like your remote control, so it should be installed within a good line of sight to the unit.

Tado is compatible with a wide range of ACs and heat pump brands, offering control over the majority of their functions. The only requirement is that your air conditioning unit must have a remote control with a display that shows the current settings.
