Cupertino, October 2, 2023

Apple has revealed that Britain has Europe's largest developer community, supporting more than half a million jobs – an increase of almost 70 percent since 2019. To mark the opening of its new UK headquarters on Thursday, Apple said that since Apple launched the App Store, developers in Britain have earned almost £7.5 billion from their apps that sell digital goods and services to customers around the world, supporting more than 550,000 jobs across the country.

In total, the iOS App Store has 101 million users in Europe, with the iPadOS App Store trailing behind with 23 million users. Apple's last UK insight into the developer community came in 2021, when the iPhone maker claimed the App Store supported more than 330,000 jobs in Britain, with developers in the country generating more than £3.6 billion in revenue, total revenue since the store first launched.
