Apple Home Key support added to new lock by Yale

Cupertino, September 27, 2023

Yale Home has recently introduced two new products to their smart lock collection: the Yale Assure Lock 2 Touch and the Yale Assure Lock 2 Plus, both of which come with support for Apple Home Keys. Apple's iOS 15 now features a smart home innovation called Home Key, which utilizes NFC technology to unlock your door. Currently, the selection of locks that support Home Key is somewhat limited, but Yale has introduced a lock that is compatible. The Assure Lock 2 Plus from Yale allows users to securely and conveniently unlock their doors using their iPhone or Apple Watch thanks to the integration of Apple Home Keys. This feature also enables users to share Home Keys with others through the Apple Home app. Additionally, the power reserve function ensures that the iPhone retains this capability even after prolonged periods without charging. Furthermore, the Apple Watch's Low Power mode allows for long-term usage. By incorporating a Yale Wi-Fi smart module, the lock gains remote access and can connect to Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple's Home app. This provides users with the ability to manage guest access from anywhere. The Assure Lock 2 Plus is available in a keyless touchscreen model in black suede and satin nickel, and will soon be available in oil-rubbed bronze as well. The Assure Lock 2 Plus with Bluetooth and Apple HomeKit is priced at $209.99, while the Bluetooth and Apple HomeKit compatible version with the Yale Wi-Fi Smart Module is priced at $289.99. Standalone Yale Wi-Fi Smart Modules can also be purchased separately for $79.99. If you don't require Apple Home key support, you might be interested in the Assure Lock 2 Touch, which features a built-in fingerprint reader. With the ability to register up to 20 different fingerprints, users can now enjoy the convenience of keyless entry. Users can simply touch the Yale logo to lock or unlock the door. This feature can be used alongside other access methods such as the touchscreen, the Yale Access app, voice commands via a virtual assistant, Auto-Lock, Auto-Unlock, or traditional keys for select models. The Assure Lock 2 Touch is available in a touchscreen model with or without a key, and comes in three timeless finishes: black suede, oil-rubbed bronze, and satin nickel. The Assure Lock 2 Touch with Bluetooth and Apple HomeKit is priced at $179.99, and the Bluetooth and Apple HomeKit compatible version with the Yale Wi-Fi Smart Module can be purchased for $279.99.
