Apple's New iCloud Storage Tiers: 6TB and 12TB at $30 and $60 per month

Cupertino, September 12, 2023

As part of the iPhone 15 event, Apple today announced new higher storage options for its iCloud plans. Previously, an individual iCloud account had a maximum storage space of 2TB, for $9.99 per month. But starting September 18, Apple will offer 6TB and 12TB plans, which provide more storage for personal photos, videos, documents and data. But these new large storage tiers will be a big blow to your wallet. The 6TB plan of iCloud+ will cost $29.99 per month in the United States. The 12TB plan costs twice as much at $59.99 per month. As with other iCloud+ plans, storage space can be shared with up to six people via Family Sharing. As you'd expect, these tiers also include all the other iCloud+ features like iCloud Private Relay, HomeKit Secure Video, and more. It's unclear whether these tiers can be combined with an Apple One Premier subscription, to add an additional 2TB of storage, for a total storage allocation of 14 terabytes. These additional tiers of storage may be pricey, but at least Apple now has an answer for people who had already filled their previous maximum allocation of 4TB (2TB iCloud + 2TB from Apple One). You can subscribe to the larger iCloud plans starting Monday, September 18.
