Aqara introduces numerous new devices

Cupertino, November 22, 2021

As reported by our colleagues at Homekit.Blog, Aqara has unveiled numerous new devices, including some HomeKit devices. In addition to an exciting "overhead light", a new door lock with HomeKey support and a thermostat, a pet feeder and a towel dryer are also among the new devices.

At the Light Art Skylight H1 is a lamp designed to imitate a skylight. Mounted on the ceiling, it is intended to give the occupants the feeling that natural sunlight is shining through a window. To make the illusion perfect, it even looks like a clear blue sky. The novel lamp is also said to support Apple HomeKit upon release.

With the Aqara A100 Smart Lock the manufacturer brings another door lock to the market. In China, the lock with integrated keypad, fingerprint sensor and NFC scanner is already available. The international version is then expected to come with HomeKey support. Apple presented the key replacement for the Wallet for the first time at this year's WWDC.

A thermostat is also in the new lineup. The Aqara Thermostat Panel S3 is not only reminiscent of the already available Aqara Smart Scene Panel S1 in terms of its name. The display is supposed to replace an existing room thermostat and allow the control of the heating via a touch-sensitive surface. The thermostat is also supposed to come with HomeKit support.

Without Apple HomeKit integration, on the other hand, the new pet food vending machine is said to be Pet Feeder C1 and the towel holder Tower Drying Rack H COMING IN. The pet feeder has a container for food that can be served automatically in a small bowl. The device can also be connected to a hub from Aqara via Zigbee 3.0.

The towel holder can also be connected to Aqara's ecosystem via Zigbee 3.0. Why the manufacturer chose to forgo HomeKit integration for this device, however, remains a mystery. In addition to the control via the Aqara app, the towel rail also has a small display that can be used to set the temperature.
