Aqara has expanded its lineup of smart locks by introducing its first lever lock, the Smart Lock U300. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor use, the U300 offers a contemporary alternative to traditional non-deadbolt locks, replacing levers and knobs on single-bore doors. It also features Matter-over-Thread technology and Apple HomeKey compatibility, ensuring future-ready integration and usability. The U300 complements Aqara’s existing smart lock collection, which includes the U100, U50, and U200, as the company continues to grow its smart lock offerings for the global market.

Powered by Thread, the Smart Lock U300 is also Matter-enabled, enabling seamless integration with Aqara's smart home devices and numerous third-party products. When connected to a Thread Border Router, the U300 can be controlled through any Matter-compatible platform (such as Alexa, Apple Home, Google Home, Home Assistant, SmartThings) making use of a suitable Matter Controller, including Aqara’s own Hub M3 (review HERE, video HERE).

The U300 is among the first smart lever locks to support Apple HomeKey, allowing iOS users to unlock their doors by tapping their iPhone or Apple Watch, even when their device is out of power, provided it is in Express mode. It also offers various access methods, including fingerprint recognition, passcodes (one-time and recurring), app control, voice assistants (such as Siri), and Aqara NFC cards. For emergencies like power outages or electronic malfunctions, mechanical keys are available. The Smart Lock U300 automatically locks the door after use, removing the worry of forgetting to secure it. Additionally, it features Passage Mode for easy entry and exit, suitable for gatherings, moving furniture, or commercial purposes. This mode can be activated and deactivated directly on the lock without any mobile app requirement.

The Aqara Smart Lock U300 showcases a sleek design with an ergonomically placed fingerprint reader within its handle. It is offered in black or silver, with black being the initially available option. The lock's exterior panel carries an IPX4 rating for weather resistance and is built to endure temperatures from -30°C to 55°C (-22°F to 131°F). Thanks to energy-efficient Thread technology, the lock's battery can sustain up to 10 months before needing replacement.
