Cupertino, September 5, 2023

Aqara showcased its new Smart Lock U200, Camera E1, Dual Relay Module T2, and Ceiling Light T1M at IFA 2023 in Berlin, Germany, last week, the company said. The products support the Matter home automation standard and should go on sale in the coming months, Aqara added.

Many technology companies are exhibiting wares at the IFA, which ends on Monday. Aqara is just one of them. "Aqara is at the forefront of innovating the smart home experience, and these new products are a testament to our commitment," said Cathy You, Aqara senior vice president of global business and strategy. "Each of them is made with the user's convenience and lifestyle in mind, reflecting our commitment to quality and innovation."

Here's what's coming to the market in the United States (in addition to this, a new outlet is planned for the EU):

  1. Smart Lock U200: The new smart lock is not a replacement lock, but a retrofit. As Aqara described it, the lock works with existing cylinders and requires no drilling or door modifications. As Aqara's first Matter-over-Thread smart lock, the U200 will be interoperable with a wide variety of smart home ecosystems and products. Using an Aqara NFC card or specific NFC-enabled mobile devices, users can unlock more easily than ever before. Other secure access options include auto-unlock, fingerprints, PINs, and mobile apps. Aqara plans to run its first crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter for the slot later in 2023.
  2. Camera E1: Like Aqara's other indoor cameras for home use, the 2K Pan/Tilt Camera E1 supports major third-party platforms such as Apple Home (including HomeKit Secure Video), Amazon Alexa, and Google Home. Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity ensure smooth live viewing and easy pairing. It also features AI-assisted person detection, person tracking, and flexible storage options such as cloud storage, microSD card, and NAS storage.
  3. Dual Relay Module T2: Aqara's Dual Relay Module T2 enables control of appliances including lighting, motorized window coverings, garage doors, water heaters, electric heaters, and underfloor heating, the company said. Built on Zigbee 3.0, the Dual Relay Module provides support for Matter-over-bridge and is compatible with major third-party platforms. It also allows users to monitor energy consumption. Safety features include overheating protection, overload protection, and configurable power limits. The 2-channel relay is powered by AC (100-250V) or DC (24-60V) and supports a total (and per channel) load of up to 10 Amps.
  4. Ceiling lamp T1M: In August 2023, Aqara released its LED Strip T1. Now comes its second smart lighting device. Ceiling lamp T1M, with a diameter of 50 cm, offers a wide spectrum of shades, from dimmable white to 16 million vibrant colors. In addition, it features an independently addressable RGB ring for gradient effects and home automation integration. You can use the RGB ring as a status light to indicate issues like an open door or a water leak, Aqara said. Like other Aqara Zigbee devices, the lamp features low idle consumption, Matter-over-bridge support, and broad compatibility.
