Aura Air, a smart air purifier, just got HomeKit support

Cupertino, January 7, 2022

The CES 2022 train has nearly come to a halt, but the announcements continue, this time with news that the Aura Air smart air purifier has gained support for Apple's HomeKit. The move means that the high-end air purifier is now easier to operate than ever before. Owners can use the Home app on iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple Watch to control their device. The Aura Air was announced last February and costs $399, making it an expensive option. It's also a powerful, with the wall-mounted unit that can clean large indoor areas up to 600 square feet in size. From our report from last year: The Aura Air has a unique wall-mount design that cleans larger indoor spaces up to 600 square feet. The Aura Air uses a patented multi-stage Ray filter that consists of a HEPA filter to trap smaller particles, copper fabric that filters out viruses and bacteria, and a carbon layer that absorbs VOCs and odors. Combined with a UVC light and a sterionizer layer that generates positive and negative ions, the air purifier is "99.97% effective at disinfecting viruses, bacteria, fungi and other impurities," according to Aura Air. The addition of HomeKit support is a very welcome addition to the existing Google Assistant, Alexa and IFTTT capabilities that were present at launch. The new support for HomeKit was first noticed by Cult of Mac, although Aura has not issued a press release as of yet.
