The recent emergence of an Apple Home-compatible smart home gadget from Italy piqued our interest at HomeKit News; a single small device that incorporates several sensors.
The product, known as the Bra.vo S4, is produced by Vortice and serves as an indoor air quality monitor. The S4's capabilities are extensive, and it combines features found in devices such as the Eve Room and the QingPing Air Monitor Lite. In addition to basic features like temperature and humidity detection, it can also detect PM2.5, PM10, VOCs, and Carbon Dioxide levels.
Although it has more features than the devices offered by Eve and QingPing, the S4 differs by having no display. Instead, it has a small, round puck-shaped unit with a convex top over a small opening, which allows the sensors to measure air quality. This opening also seems to have colour LEDs which change based on air quality.
The S4, which also comes with a wall bracket for ceiling or wall mounting, is powered by a standard USB cable. It connects to your network and to HomeKit using standard 2.4GHz WiFi and can work with other Vortice products, such as the brand’s HomeKit-compatible ventilation system.
The price, at just under EU€190 on Amazon.it, leaves something to be desired. Also, it appears to be currently available only in Italy.
