Cupertino, June 2, 2020

Brilliant has introduced a new update to Internal Wall Controls that adds support for Alexa ads. The latest feature allows homeowners to broadcast on-demand messages to other bright commands or Alexa devices inside the home

Alexa ads now work with Brilliant. This means you can say "Alexa, announce…", and this ad will run through you. Bright control (s) and any other Alexa-connected devices in your home.

To activate the feature, users must run version 20.05.27 of the Home Control operating system and must be signed in to an Alexa account. The update is automatic for all users and can be installed manually on the device if it has not yet been applied.

In addition to Alexa ads, Brilliant Home Control recently added the ability to control selected garage door openers by integrating Genie Aladdin Connect. About 20 garage door openers are currently supported, and Brilliant offers a complete list along with integration steps on a dedicated support page. Once connected, users can open and close their door via the touch screen, the Brilliant app or Alexa voice commands.

Control access to your home by connecting the smart garage door Genie Aladdin Connect to the brilliant control. Use Alexa on your bright control to voice control the smart garage door.

Both updates follow a public beta of HomeKit support, which was released in early May. To learn more about Brilliant Home Control, check out our recent hands-on review.
