With CES 2024 now in full swing, there are numerous announcements to absorb, including the unveiling of a new smart lock.
Smart locks are becoming increasingly popular, adding a touch of intelligence to any home without much complexity, and proving to be a real convenience for those who tend to forget their keys. The Lockly Visage, the new smart lock, comes with all the usual features, as well as an additional one that sets it apart.
In addition to being able to connect the new lock to HomeKit and control it via the Home app, you also have the option to open the door using a touchpad and RFID support. However, the most exciting feature is the support for facial recognition.
Yes, that's right. You can now unlock your door using your face.
You read that right
Lockly's announcement of its new product through a press release is quite extensive, highlighting the various ways in which the Visage can be unlocked.
You can use RFID cards or your fingerprint, or use HomeKit and Siri for control. But the standout feature is the facial recognition. While the efficacy of this feature is yet to be seen, it's definitely an enticing aspect of the lock.
The lock also supports Matter, although certification is pending, enabling Home support. For those with older Lockly apps, Home support can be added through an additional $30 hub, eliminating the need to replace the entire lock.
The lock will be available for sale this summer in Satin Nickel and Matte Black color options, with a price tag of $349.
