Smart accessory maker Eve has recently unveiled the Thermo Control, a wireless temperature sensor and controller that is compatible with the Eve Thermo smart radiator valve. This new accessory, aptly named Thermo Control, is specifically designed for use with the Thermo radiator valve, which may limit its applicability to some users. Nevertheless, it could be the much-awaited accessory many have been waiting for, provided they have the appropriate radiator valve installed. Although eager customers will need to exercise patience, as the Eve Thermo Control is set to ship in November.
Matter made this exciting announcement about the Thermo Control via a press release shared with iMore. One of the key advantages emphasized by Matter is that the temperature is no longer measured at the valve, which is physically attached to the radiator. Eve explains that with the Eve Thermo Control, users can achieve more accurate target temperatures while having greater control at their fingertips. Moreover, the new accessory features an e-ink display that presents the selected target temperature and the thermostat's heating status. Operating the sensor is straightforward—simply tap one of the two touch-sensitive buttons on the front; one button raises the desired temperature, while the other lowers it. It couldn't be simpler!
In addition to the Thermo Control, Eve has also revealed that it will be rolling out a firmware update for the MotionBlinds, which will introduce Matter support for the first time. These smart shades will receive a complimentary upgrade on November 14, the same date to mark on your calendar if you are planning to purchase the new Thermo Control sensor. The Thermo Control sensor will be available for € 79.95. With the growing list of Matter-compatible accessories, the need for HomeKit support may not be as essential as it once was. However, it is unfortunate that November 14 is still quite a distance away.
