15.1 "Conditional" functionality is disappointing

Cupertino, October 28, 2021

I have several scenarios where I want a motion or contact sensor to trigger automation and use a false switch or temperature as a CONDITION before controlling a device or initiating a scene. I always had to use the Eve app to do this (but the Eve app only lets those rules initiate a scene, so I went into the Home app to change the scene for props, rather than creating millions of different HK scenes) . I had the impression that the iOS 15.1 update will allow us to create these conditioned automations in the Home application. I tried it and I can't find it. I went to the HomeKit Authority's YouTube video discussing this and it demonstrates the use of temperature, luxury and air quality as triggers (conditions in a different sense of the word, I think). I missed something? In my experience with other workflow / automation software (such as Microsoft PowerAutomate), what is presented as "conditions" is not what any other platform considers conditions. Does anyone else feel the same way? (This made me finally dive into the Convert to Shortcut functionality, which is great!)
