The kit worn by the renamed club had a central white stripe, which is reproduced on the 2021/22 design. Another feature is the capital letter “A” created by the central red stripes, while Nike gave the kit a paint aesthetic, with red streaks reaching the white stripes. The red and white shirt will be worn with navy shorts and blue and white striped socks. The sets are made of 100% recycled polyester fabric, made from recycled plastic bottles.
Atlético Madrid’s new home kit will be worn by the club throughout the 2021/22 season and is available to Nike members through the Nike web store and Atlético Madrid channels. It will be released globally on July 12.
The paint design follows other unconventional design options from recent Nike jerseys, including Chelsea’s optical illusion kit and the reinvented stripes of the Barcelona kit.
