Hello friends, I want to put a roof defrosting system, it will be about 3 circuits of 5000 W / runs. I was originally thinking of using smart switches but it looks like that may be a bad idea? as they are not designed to be switched on and off. Not sure if that is a concern as the winters are pretty cold and it probably will be most of the time, I anticipate over the course of the year it will trigger maybe 100 times? Especially in autumn and spring. I haven't been able to find 5000 watt outdoor outlets, they max out at 15 amps or 1875 watts. And that would be a single cable at 5000w. Looking for any Homekit or Homebridge compatible suggestions you might have.
