Adding Aqara hubs to the Xiaomi Home app

Cupertino, March 25, 2021

I've read a few threads about it, but they're all relatively old now. Has anyone recently used an Aqara Hub or Aqara M1S in the Xiaomi Home app? I have both, created an account with China as a country and set up the application in mainland China. I reset both gateways using pressing the button 10 times. I managed to add Hub Aqara, which kicks off Homekit integration. When you're done, a new tab called homekit with Aqara Hub appears. After you click on it, it communicates with the hub and disappears from the Xiaomi Home app. With M1S, it only triggers Homekit integration and that's it. Both gateways work well in the Aqara app, but with the M1S, if you use Xiaomi Home in mainland China mode, there are many more devices you can add. I am mainly interested in associating Ikea Tradfri things with Aqara Hub. Has anyone had any success in this, please?
