Air conditioning in Homekit iOS 17 via HA has lost its automatic fan speed

Cupertino, October 1, 2023

I installed the Mitsubishi split unit AC using a Broadlink IR blaster in Home Assistant and it has been working great in HA and HomeKit for years. However, with the iOS 17 update, my AC seems to have lost its "auto" fan speed. Before iOS 17, there would be a separate button below the fan speed slider for Auto. That is now missing. Is it simply not supported anymore or is there a new way to select it that I haven't figured out? The HA is fully updated, as are the SmartIR components. Anyone else with a similar setup having this problem?
