NWSL's newest expansion team, Angel City FC, has finally unveiled its new home equipment ahead of the opening season.
The main jersey is the first for the franchise, which is set to begin in 2022 and become one of two clubs in California to join the NWSL as it expands to twelve teams.
The historic set is black, backed by Nike and made from sustainable, 100% recycled polyester fibers. It boasts Nike Dri-FIT technology and breathable side panels for player comfort.
The shirt has details about ACFC's custom colors: Sol Rosa and Armor. The color of the Angel City FC logo, the Nike logo, the sponsors, the player's name and number are all Sol Rosa, while the geometric pattern is Armor.
Katie Eaton, vice president of commerce and fan experience, explained that the team is looking to capture a "timeless" feeling with the first kit.
"I feel that's how we're going to approach our T-shirts in general," she said. "Our principal will always be tried and true to the identity of our club."

"My favorite part is the subtle reminder that we do things differently," said ACFC founding investor and football legend Julie Foudy. "He looks so good. I'm going to make him in the stands like a crazy fan I'm going to be. I've been talking about this for so long and he's finally here."
The shirt will also feature the team's sponsors: DoorDash (front), Birdies (sleeve) and Sprouts Farmers Market (lower back).
"With these partners, we will provide nearly $ 2 million over the next few years back to the LA community," said Eaton, referring to the club's sponsorship model, in which 10% of each business goes directly to community programs or organizations.
The travel kit will be announced at a later date as ACFC prepares for the first NWSL expansion project on December 16th.
