Apple announces WWDC 2020 as a "new online experience" scheduled for June

Cupertino, March 13, 2020

Apple has officially announced WWDC 2020, presenting this year's conference as a "new online experience" in which the company is expected to drop the curtain on iOS 14, iPadOS 14, macOS 10.16, tvOS 14 and watchOS 7 and more.

"We deliver WWDC 2020 in June in an innovative way to millions of developers around the world, bringing the entire developer community together with new experience," said Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of Global Marketing. “The current health situation has required the creation of a new format ‌WWDC 2020‌ that offers a complete program with a key and online sessions, providing an excellent learning experience for our entire community of developers worldwide. We'll share all the details in the coming weeks. "

"With all the new products and technologies we have worked on, 'WWDC 2020' will be great," said Craig Federighi, Apple Engineering's senior vice president. "I look forward to our developers getting their hands on the new code and interacting in completely new ways with Apple engineers building technologies and frameworks that will shape the future on all Apple platforms."

In addition to announcing its new digital event, Apple has pledged to donate $ 1 million to local San Jose organizations to offset the associated revenue loss following the "WWDC 2020" online format.
