Apple's AirPlay 2 comes to more TV models. Vizio and LG have announced plans to deploy support for AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. These moves will provide more households with the ability to wirelessly stream entertainment from Apple devices via AirPlay 2, as well as additional home and voice controls connected to HomeKit.

LG is these updates on its new TV models. The company has begun a software update to allow AirPlay 2 and HomeKit to select TV models starting this year. Certain 2019 models of LG OLED and NanoCell 4K UHD TVs from LG featuring the ThinQ AI feature in the US will be the first to receive this update. The rest of LG's 2019 4K UHD television collection will receive updates later this year.

Vizio is a more global approach. It will extend AirPlay 2 and HomeKit support to SmartCast TV models starting in 2016. The company noted that the overall deployment would take several months.

LG and Vizio join a few other TV manufacturers with Apple integrations. Samsung support for AirPlay 2 in early 2019. Sony also integrates AirPlay 2 and HomeKit into some of its TVs.
