Apple launches repair program for Apple Watch Series 5 and SE models with charging problems

Apple has launched a new repair program for owners of Apple Watch Series 5 and Apple Watch SE, after “a very small number of customers” face problems that prevent portable devices from charging after entering power save mode.

Apple on Monday released watchOS 7.3.1, addressing the power reserve issues with the two models, in order to prevent it from happening in the future. However, for users who are already experiencing issues caused by backup mode, Apple is now offering free repairs to fix the issue.

First seen by MacRumors, Apple says to check if the Apple Watch is affected by this issue, place the watch on the charger you normally use, and then wait at least 30 minutes. If your Apple Watch isn’t charging yet, contact Apple Support to set up a free mail repair so your laptop can be examined.
