Apple Seeds Beta Four of iOS 13.1 and iPadOS 13.1 to Developers and Public Beta Testers

Cupertino, September 18, 2019

Apple today released the fourth beta version of iOS 13.1 and iPadOS 13.1 for the benefit of developers and public testers. New beta comes one week after the third beta seed.

Beta versions are available to developers over the air on devices with the appropriate configuration. Developers can also download new versions from the Apple Development Center.

Public beta versions of new operating systems can be downloaded from the Apple Beta Software Program Web site by registered users of the test program. If you want to try previous versions of upcoming operating systems, you can register for the program by clicking on the same link.

Apple released the first beta of iOS 13.1 in August, and it was a surprise, because Apple had never released a "one-off" update on an operating system that was not yet got out. Apple is preparing version 13.1 for September 30th.

In the 13.1 beta version of iOS, Apple has restored a number of features that it had previously removed from versions 13, such as the ability to share an ETA in Maps, the Automation tab for shortcuts, and conversational shortcuts. The new version 13.1 was also appearing: new HomeKit device icons and animations of accessories in HomeKit, updated dynamic screen backgrounds, new device icons in AirDrop and a family sharing option for Personal Hotspot.

iOS 13.1 is compatible with these iPhones:

  • iPhone XS
  • iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone XR
  • iPhone X
  • iPhone 8
  • iPhone 8 Plus
