Apple shortcuts: "wait" seems to be broken

Cupertino, January 31, 2021

With the latest iOS update, Apple has changed something by the way shortcuts work with "wait" commands. The devices now seem able to go to bed while a shortcut runs in the foreground. The shortcut still seems to run, but the "counting" goes slower. I have a shortcut that starts the coffee machine, waits 7 minutes (420 seconds), then says a notification to tell me when the brewing is finished. He used to keep his phone awake all the time while "waiting" was running. Now, the phone goes to bed and the spoken alert is drawn randomly about an hour later. The phone is connected to power all the time. Very frustrating. Now I have to find a different way to do this.
