Apple to release 5G iPad Pro models in late 2020

Apple will launch new iPad Pro 5G models by the end of 2020, according to a new Taiwan source report DigiTimes which claims that the new devices will be equipped with 5nm A14 chips and support a combination of mmWave and sub-6GHz bands.

Conformable DigiTimes, Apple will unveil its 5G-equipped iPad Pro models, along with the launch of the next-generation iPhone lineup in September, despite the fact that Apple usually unveils iPad models updated next month in October. The report claims that as Apple's iPhone 12, Apple's new iPad Pro range will support a combination of mmWave and sub-6GHz bands, which probably vary by region.

The paywalled report follows after DigiTimes claimed Future-generation Apple devices may not enter mass-production due to coronavirus, which leads to potential shortages of stock at launch and through the holiday shopping season.

Based on the 5G product roadmaps, Apple is expected to launch new iOS devices, including iPhone and iPads, incorporating both sub-6GHz and mmWave specifications, likely in September, which will significantly boost demand for the 5nm A14 , sources said. - A14 can be applied on various iOS mobile devices for different 5G frequency bands, as long as the appropriate modem chips and AiP modules are adopted, they added that Qualcomm will supply Snapdragon X55 5G modem chipsets for new iPhone devices by 2020 .

Apple's new iPad Pro models are expected to get an iPhone 11 Pro triple lens rear camera system to allow creatives to shoot high quality 4K videos, as well as provide users with enhanced AR capabilities.
