LG announced Monday that the 2019 smart TVs are now being integrated with the Apple TV app and Apple TV + service, with availability being broadcast in the United States and 80 other countries.

The Korean technology company unveiled the new capability in a press release, saying that compatible TV owners can access the appropriate streaming application and service through LG Home Launcher.

Like previous Apple TV app integrations, including selected Roku devices, LG TV owners are able to subscribe to Apple TV channels, browse an existing iTunes video library, and buy or rent shows through the native app. Apple TV TV access allows access to the original series and Apple.

While a full list of supported hardware has not been provided, the company notes all 2019 OLED TVs and NanoCell TVs (SM9X and SM8X series) now Apple technologies, including Apple TV, AirPlay 2 and HomeKit. LG announced that it plans to integrate AirPlay 2 and HomeKit last July and subsequently expanded the feature as part of a software update later that month.

LG plans to launch the Apple TV app on selected UHD TVs (UM7X and UM6X series) in February, while both the app and Apple TV + will be available on the 2018 model TVs later this year via firmware. over-the-air.

Today's news comes nearly a month after LG at CES said the Apple TV and Apple TV + app will hit smart TVs by 2020.
