Apple TV as a hub. Does the current box always sound like a home bridge?

Cupertino, April 9, 2021

I have a HomePod for my ground floor. It's an open plan. I'm thinking of getting a new Apple TV, so I don't have to use my smart TV features. It would be nice to take up less buffet space where my HomePod is. I would only do this if I could use the Apple TV just like the HomePod. I'm basically wondering if I should use the remote to say hey Siri?
