Apple TV as a HomeKit Hub sucks! My HomeKit automations stop, my short automations stop.
These things take into account timers, motion sensors, etc.
It seems that this is a known problem with Apple TV, however Apple did nothing to fix this problem and it has been many months since I heard about this known problem!
I want Apple to let us choose which device can act as a HomeKit Hub, because my HomePods work perfectly.
It annoys me a lot when an automation doesn't work anymore, only to find out that the hub has changed. This makes the whole experience unreliable.
And you can't restart Apple TV remotely through the Home app, just as you can with the HomePod (hoping the device will change hubs).
No, I have to go deep into my cabinet to disconnect and wait minutes for the button to change because it is not instantaneous.
Apple pays little attention to HomeKit in general and shows how much it is trying to fix HomeKit for Apple TV.
