Apple continues to rely heavily on Google Cloud, as a new report claims that the company now spends 50% more than it did last year. Google's cloud-based storage solution hosts iCloud and all the data stored in it.

According to a new report from The Information, Apple is now the largest Google Cloud customer and is about to spend around $ 300 million on Google Cloud storage this year.

This is happening as Apple prepares iCloud +, a rebranding of its paid iCloud levels, which allow users to take up more storage space in the cloud - including extensive HomeKit Secure Video camera recordings. As Apple continues to allow iPhone, iPad and Mac users to enter more data in the cloud, it believes it would need more cloud storage. As photos and videos improve with the increasing size of each iPhone and file, simply activating the iCloud Photo Library is enough for every user to be able to access gigabytes of Apple storage.

VPN offers: lifetime license for $ 16, monthly plans for $ 1 and more

Google is one of the largest cloud players on the planet, and such services have never been Apple's strong point. It's no surprise that it's partnering with Google or other companies in this way. It is always better to pay something to do something they do well than to do it alone, stupidly, for free.

For those who prefer not to use iCloud, there are plenty of other options out there. We've completed the best cloud storage apps for iPhone and iPad and they'll work just as well with your Mac.
