One of the great things about Shortcuts on iOS and iPadOS is that you can share shortcuts with others via iCloud links. Except, right now, not so much. As a lot of people find out now, iCloud shortcut sharing is very broken.
As noticed by people on Reddit and Twitter, clicking on an iCloud link that should opening a shortcut is instead an error message.
Okay, WTF.
The whole @macstoriesnet The shortcut archive has broken links right now. None of the links to my hundreds of shortcuts work.
I seriously hope that Apple will solve this quickly. https://t.co/MGwB1bRhHD https://t.co/5BMhhbdoqC pic.twitter.com/fbbxuHzW2V

This is especially problematic for sites like MacStories, which have a huge – and extremely useful – library of shortcuts that can (normally) be accessed through these links. But again, today none of these links work and no one can do anything about it until Apple launches a solution, whatever that solution may be.

My uneducated assumption right here, right now, is that Apple has changed something on the part of the server that has invalidated every iCloud quick link that exists. It remains to be seen if Apple knows what that change was. At this point, it’s not even clear if Apple knows that It has a problem to fix. I contacted Apple and asked the question and I will update this post if and when I receive an answer.
Shortcuts can be handy for all sorts of things, not least making smart gadgets work with Siri even if they don’t support HomeKit!
