Aqara G4 big and ugly?

Cupertino, April 23, 2024

Hi all, I've had a Ring Pro and Ring Pro 2 for a long time and now looking to upgrade things to HomeKit compatible now that Ring has almost doubled their subscription prices and my current subscriptions have ended.

My requirements are HomeKit compatible, wired, generally fantastic 😂

Basically, the Aqara G4 seems to be the best in every way and looks perfect for my needs, however I think it looks quite big and ugly.

Is it really big and ugly? It looks like it is for me and I'm sure it will come from a Ring Pro 2.

Also, what are the chances that the G5 will come out in a few months and be a waste?

Edit/Update.

Thanks for all your advice and I'm sold. I will place an order today.

Since it will be plugged in, I'm just wondering about the rechargeable batteries?

Despite being plugged in, can I put rechargeable batteries in it and will it keep them charged and act as a backup in case of a power outage or not?

Thanks
