Are there any HomeKit best practices? There should be.

Cupertino, January 31, 2021

Is there anything like Homekit best practices or writings trying to do that? By that I mean things that are largely independent of the homekit you use. This would be things like: 1. if you could / should use a second dedicated AppleID just at home, 2. how your wifi should be set up 3. how to back up your homekit configuration if something goes crazy and you delete your cameras using Controller for Homekit, btw) 4. how to how to structure your groups so that they are extensible without having to rebuild your automations. 5. How / if to use wifi extenders with a different SSID name and possibly on a different channel and to associate low bandwidth WiFi devices with them so that you can keep the configuration of the main router free to directly display all 30 of wifi bulbs (if that's your job). 6. How to extend the range to any Bluetooth device using old iPhones. 7. How can you make the homekit configuration easy to repair if a device gets damaged / no longer works completely, so you don't need to rebuild your automations. 7. And probably much more. Anyway, is there such a thing? also, in terms of numbers 4 and 7, does anyone know if there is a way to simply add devices in one step? For example, if I have a group of lamps that are grouped and I have an automation that controls that group, does adding another lamp to the group automatically add it to the automation? Because you really should. But I don't think so. I tried to find a way to make each device its own one-member group, so that if a device dies, I could just put a new device in its slot without having to rebuild the automations associated with it, and I couldn't do that. Apple Home doesn't allow you to create groups with a single device, but other apps do. And a group that has been created can persist with zero devices in it, but after deleting the last device, I think all the automations associated with the group are disconnected. Anyway, I just want there to be documents on how to build things to minimize the need to rebuild them in the future. Any thoughts are appreciated.
