Are you blocking the HomeKit application?

Cupertino, July 14, 2021

Two questions. Thanks to anyone who can answer. 1) Can you put a lock on an iOS app? HomeKit in particular. My Home Hub is used by family members of different ages and I don't want that app to be used by them, not even accidentally. Is there a way to request a password every time? 2) Related question. If a password can be added, I assume that the password prompt will only appear when the application is restarted after it has been shut down by "closing", meaning it is not active at all, is not clicked or functional, does not even run in background)? But can HomeKit cameras continue to record / add videos even with the app not active (but HomeHub remained active)?
