I'm aware of the "Unable to connect to server" issues and I've managed to get to the Home Bridge gateway to appear in the HomeKit. The problem is that the gate controller itself will not appear behind it. The LA400 appears in the MyQ application as both a MyQ device and a "HomeKit with a bridge" device, but only the gateway device appears in the HomeKit (without gate).
