Asus XD4 ZenWifi Mesh Network with Homekit

Cupertino, October 5, 2021

I have read several forums about this problem, but I can't seem to find a solution to my problem. I've adjusted quite a few of my network settings, but I still have issues with some of my HomeKit devices that look "unanswered" (namely, a few LIFX bulbs and WeMo smart plugs. Some of them work fine 99% of the time, but 3 sockets and 4 bulbs still give me problems). These devices work well in the mobile app and the Google Home app, but not the HomeKit. I read that it is an mDNS problem, but I don't know what else to try to improve mDNS in my network. & # x200B; I have the Asus XD4 ZenWiFi network. An SSID for the 2.4 band and an SSID for the 5 GHz band. I use the 5 GHz band as the ethernet backhaul. I have enabled multicast routing. I will upload images with the network settings I currently have. & # x200B; I read that disabling Beamforming on the 5 GHz band can help, but all my IoT devices are on the 2.4 GHz band. My phone and homepod / Apple mini-TVs are on the 5 GHz band, but when I put the phone on the 2.4 GHz band, the devices still say "No answer", so I wasn't sure if that would make a difference. I have a Nanoleaf wired light bulb that works great, but I would like to get rid of these few LIFX bulbs because I have already bought them. & # x200B; Any help would be greatly appreciated. https://preview.redd.it/5rgqs867y3o71.jpg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b0561d1b54e4c2de6a4bd576bd0491c711cbfc82 https://preview.redd.it/0hsup077y3o71.jpg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a7e68095dd0aec193ac246f1686c6d5856516178 https: // preview.redd.it/qlp3zh67y3o71.jpg?width=808&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=743f2de5a9bf57db66d91ddf75bea7687d796411
