Automatic shortcuts suddenly do not work

Cupertino, December 14, 2019

EDIT: Looks like a lot of other people have the problem I describe below when using Apple TV with tvOS 13.3 as a hub (apparently HomePod works okay). From other posts, I gather that this issue was reported as a bug back when tvOS 13.3 was a beta. Ranting doesn't matter, but Apple's pre-release test seems to be absolutely awful for Homekit. I submitted a feedback assistant report.

In particular, automations that are triggered when an accessory turns on and use a shortcut (on hold) to turn off the same accessory. These worked just fine and now do not work at all, including new ones added to try to troubleshoot this. The automation works when I press the "test this automation" button on iOS (but strangely not on macOS).

I run all the latest iOS, tvOS and macOS versions. In fact, the only recent change was the update of macOS to Catalina.

EDIT: Also tried to automate a simple shortcut that controlled another accessory without WAIT (when accessory A is turned on, invoke the shortcut to turn on accessory B). This also no longer works. But automating without the shortcut (When Acc. A turns on, you need to enable Acc B) works.
