It’s not directly related to HomeKit, but as I build my HomeKit setup, I’ve been looking for different ways to automate my home with Siri, because some devices don’t support HomeKit natively and aren’t technical enough to go with HomeBridge. A friend suggested I try BroadLink RM4 (I bought the Pro version because it was on sale) and I was amazed at how well it works in general and with shortcuts specifically. It works almost immediately when I’m talking to Siri on the phone and just a little more on the watch (but I don’t think it’s BroadLink’s fault). I used it with my Samsung TV and I was amazed by all the scenes I created with it, I can even change the channel with my voice, much more functions than HomeKit TVs. So I tested it with my AC because I was going to buy a Tado to control it … Not a proper HomeKit support, I had to create different scenes and a more sophisticated shortcut, but again, the result was It was amazing for the low price I paid! I hope this doesn’t break any rules, as no HomeKit device is involved, but I’m very happy with how this little device has integrated with my HomeKit setup and given Siri a lot of super useful features!
