Unless I'm missing something, it seems that automations work * independently * from the scenes. I would like to make certain automations * dependent * on the scene chosen.
Simple example: I've configured an automation that locks my home's mudroom door at a certain time in the evening and reopens it at a certain time in the morning. It's a nice security feature if I ever leave the garage door open (the mud room is the entrance from the garage).
I also set up a holiday scene that changes the thermostat settings, turns off all lights * and locks all doors * and so on.
The only problem is that the mud room automation continues to run in vacation mode, opening this door and closing it again at the preset times.
This is just one example. I can think of the outside lights that stay lit for an extended period while on vacation, and on motion detectors to trigger different actions while on vacation than while at home.
Is there a & # 39; guru & # 39; way to get scenes to control automations? – or achieve what I would like to achieve in another way?
