Can I return the lights to their previous state?

Cupertino, October 6, 2021

I have a bunch of Hue lights, successfully connected to the HomeKit (using a HomePod Mini as the hub). I've programmed a few shortcuts and scenes and it works fine. What I'm trying to do is have a scene that changes the color of the light, then another scene that - ideally - brings them back ** to their previous state **. Here's why: I record a podcast in my house every day. The "Register" shortcut changes the red color of the living room (so my wife knows how to stay calm during check-in) and a "Register finished" shortcut. This is the last thing I would like to restore the lights to their previous state, rather than turn them off. * If they were stopped when I made the first shortcut, they stop in the second shortcut. * If they were 50% white, they return to 50% white * etc. Is there any way to do this? To somehow interrogate the lights for their condition and store them in a variable? Or something?
