I’m looking into setting up smart home automation in my house, and since most of my devices are Apple-based I wanted to go with a HomePod to control everything. I’ve read the Amazon Echo has the ability to open apps and use volume controls on an LG TV directly through Alexa voice commands, but I haven’t seen any confirmation that HomePod can do the same thing through Siri without an Apple TV 4K. Is there a way to control apps on a TV with Siri (i.e. “Hey Siri, open Netflix on the tv in the living room”), or should I just go with an Echo instead?
