Can you make a smoke alarm?

Cupertino, May 16, 2021

Has anyone tried to break into a normal non-smart smoke detector so that it can trigger, for example, a aqara door detector? There seems to be a smoke detector available from Mijia-Honeywell, but it is still around 55 USD plus shipping and about 25% import tax to take it to Denmark. In addition, our house is so big that we need> 5 to cover it. And then it's technically approved only in China, so compatibility is debatable. And then Netatmo and Eve have some that are more compatible, but also more expensive. So I was wondering if you could use a standard one and connect it to the glass terminals on the door sensors? Just like I did with a contact for the lock on my doors.
