Can't add an iPhone 13 pro accessory

Cupertino, October 24, 2021

Recently, I moved into a new home and had a number of issues with all of my devices running HomeKit on my new network. For example, one of the two original HomePods had several connection attempts while I first connected with the second HomePod and a mini HomePod. Also, a light bulb that used a Hue bridge had no connection problems. However, I had problems with two LIFX bulbs. I finally got them both to work with Homekit, but it was a long process. We were able to reset and pair one of the bulbs (LIFX mini) to the HomeKit using the LIFX application (although after many resets and retries) by manually entering the required HomeKit code. However, the second light bulb (LIFX A19) kept sending me the message that there was a problem connecting to the HomeKit, but it never gave me the option to enter a HomeKit code manually. After several resets and pairing failures with HomeKit, I decided to try adding the bulb to HomeKit using the Home app on an iPhone 13 pro. However, whenever I chose the option to add an accessory, nothing happened. I was about to give up when I decided to try again using the Home app on an iPad; and, unlike the iPhone, I was given the option to enter the HomeKit code and the light bulb was immediately connected to the HomeKit. A very strange and very frustrating experience.
