CES 2020: Best of HomeKit

Cupertino, January 7, 2020
Apple's HomeKit platform is gaining more support from smart home device manufacturers who want to join the growing ecosystem of interconnected devices. Here are some of the many HomeKit compliant devices introduced at CES 2020 to improve your home life.

Arlo

Arlo expands its Pro 3 range at CES 2020 with the Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight wireless camera. The new device integrates a wide light into the newly introduced Arlo Pro 3 camera.

Because it is based on the Arlo Pro 3, it has many of the same video features, including 2K HD video, 160-degree field of view, two-way audio and a built-in siren. The new LED light is significantly stronger and brighter than the small LED found on the standard Pro 3 camera.

The camera is wireless, so it can be mounted without the need to replace an existing device or hire an electrician. Users can turn on and off the light manually or on the basis of movement. The sensitivity level can be adjusted to not trigger too often and also helps in full color night mode.

As with the Pro 3, the Pro 3 Floodlight camera offers a three-month trial with Arlo Smart, Arlo's subscription plan, which allows for a 30-day full-resolution 2K recording window, AI features and e911 support.

The new Arlo Pro 3 Floodlight camera will be available in the spring of 2020 for $ 249.

Startup OneLife has unveiled its sleek air purifier, which highlights many of the design aesthetic and maintenance issues that plague many models.

The new PureOne air purifier is more durable than others because it has a washable filter and not a replaceable one. It does a worse job, though it can extract particles as small as PM 1.0, much smaller than ordinary PM 2.5.

PureOne has a clean design, which is mostly made of wood and fabric, with a hidden display at the top.

The device operates on its own, monitoring air quality and rising up and down, as needed, to clean the air properly. It can also be controlled via Apple's HomeKit and Siri.
