Connect light strips vs cable.

Cupertino, December 31, 2023

My kitchen is about to be remodeled and we need to decide on under cabinet lighting and possibly leg lighting. My contractor wants to run 12 or 24 volt wiring under the cabinet lighting. The strips can be cut to size for more precise coverage, the lights usually have more diodes, look a bit more professional, etc... It will require a driver, controller, switch... I want to be able to control the temperature of the lights. I really want to use a warm light in the morning and evening. The problem I'm having is finding a HomeKit compatible controller or driver to control the temperature (color isn't as important). If we just wanted to use 3500 temp lights, I could get a low voltage Lutron Caseta switch to go with the others, but they don't have a switch to control the temperature. Any thoughts or recommendations or am I better off just getting a Hue, Nanoleaf, Eve or (fill in your recommendation) strip?
