This week, on HomeKit Insider, we review the new Leviton Decora Wi-Fi dimmer switch, decompose the Matter delay to 2022, and answer the listener's questions on the USB wall outlets.

It was announced last week that the next standard issue that will allow Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Apple's HomeKit to work more seamlessly together will be postponed until sometime in 2022. We are talking about ramifications and when we will probably see the first products.

Stephen talks about a new automation he created for his coffee grinder. His goal is to prevent his grinder from ever running too much and retreating into a coffee-ground nightmare.

Andrew then reviews Leviton's new Wi-Fi dimmer switch along with the Anywhere Companion wireless dimmer switch, which can be mounted almost anywhere.

Listener's questions

This week, Derek asked us what we thought of built-in sockets that have USB ports. He looked at the Utilitech model before considering Leviton. There were a lot of issues to consider, including USB-A ports and USB-C ports.

Angel Vargas wanted to know which was the best MagSafe charger for his house, choosing between the latest model Mophie and Belkin Boost Charge Pro. And, Kasper asked about the reliability of the Logitech Circle and its problems with its 5 Ghz Wi-Fi.
