Most of you with an Ecobee thermostat probably know that it does not allow independent control of the HVAC fan in HomeKit. I found a problem using the Home + app and the DummySwitch plugin for Homebridge.
The Home + app allows you to change the fan status between on and off. This status change can only be made using scenes from the Home + application. After creating the scene in the Home + application, it can be activated right within the HomeKit. Using the DummySwitch plugin you can create a switch that allows the HVAC fan on stage when it is on and activates an HVAC fan on the stage when the switch is off.
If the fan is controlled from the Ecobee application or thermostat directly, the start / stop status of the fan will not be reflected in the HomeKit without creating further automation. To change the DummySwitch state, an automation application can be created in the Home + application that changes the DummySwitch state based on the current status of the thermostat fan.
