Ecobee smart sensor and HomeKit automation

Cupertino, September 14, 2020

This doesn't seem like an overly complicated problem, but I have problems wrapping my brain around it and a sub search doesn't seem to offer any solution.

I use the Ecobee3 thermostat with a smart sensor located in my master bedroom, both controlled mainly via the Home app. In the Ecobee app I changed the “sleep” comfort setting to query the smart sensor in the master bedroom as a participating sensor, as this is the hottest room and I want the system to respond to this temperature above all else. However, when building the appropriate "sleep" automation in the Home application, only the main thermostat can be selected as an applied accessory.

My question is: is the selection of only the smart sensor as a sensor participating in the "sleep" comfort setting in the Ecobee application moving to the appropriate HomeKit automation?

Thanks for your help.
